Razer announced the Barracuda X. What fans are most interested in is that it doesn’t look like other headset designs that have been released before. Barracuda is not like other headsets that have restrictions on certain games. Barracuda X is designed primarily for mobile gamers who want to play games on the go and, at the same time. You won’t look tacky or goofy, changing the design of other headsets, so they don’t stand out too much in public.
The Razer Barracuda X is beautifully designed. They don’t follow Razer’s iconic color, tough green, but instead, they sport a clean, stealthy black look with the famous snake logo blending matte black on each earcup. Thanks to its reduced size and simplicity, the Barracuda is an ideal candidate for people who like portability. It is a nice touch from Razer because the Barracudas are quite versatile, meaning you can take them for walks or even use them in the office.
The Razer Barracuda X measures 3.32 x 6.4 x 7.34 inches and weighs just 8.8 ounces. In addition, the earmuffs can rotate up to 90 degrees, making them comfortable to wear and even lay flat for easy storage. It comes in a black plastic finish but doesn’t feel cheap. It’s not as powerful as some of Razer’s other headsets like the BlackShark or Nari. The pads use the same mesh material we saw in the BlackShark V2. They regulate temperature very well and are quite soft, giving you great comfort when wearing them around the ear. The headband is not on the bulky side but provides just the right amount of tension, and you will be very comfortable wearing it all the time.
The Razer Barracuda X places all the buttons and ports on the edge of the left earcup. They include a power button with a small red dot to indicate when the headset is on and also to show battery life simultaneously. Volume rocker, quick microphone mute button, USB-C port for charging, and even a 3.5mm port for wired listening, plus another 3.5mm for the boom mic as it’s detachable. Razer Barracuda X with a very simple design. Since they were billed as multi-platform gaming headsets, Razer decided not to make them eligible for the Razer Synapse app for the extra features.
Razer has stayed true to its old-fashioned buttons and left all the controls in hand. The Power Button does everything you need; it’s multi-functional. While headsets have cool control features like adjusting the volume level with a touch on the earpads, I’m quite happy with the physical buttons on the Barracudas; they are responsive and easy to find.
