The Razer BlackShark V2 has improved over the previous generation through the TriForce Titanium 50mm drivers. The detachable HyperClear Supercardioid Mic, ultra-soft FlowKnit memory foam earpads, passive noise cancellation, and THX Spatial Audio surround sound. For the feature-heavy BlackShark V2 Pro, wireless capabilities are added to the mix alongside the 24-hour battery life. BlackShark V2 Pro is a fantastic wireless headset that will work well for general gaming or anyone with esports aspirations. Console support is a bit crooked, so it’s for PC gamers all the time.
Blackshark V2 Pro is designed almost the same as Blackshark V2, only without cables. The earmuffs use matte black plastic and are oval. The headband, through Y-shaped support, made of rigid wire, has the same memory foam earpads wrapped in a soft cloth. And the same memory foam padded underside of the headband with faux leather on the top. Its results in a lightweight and comfortable garment that is easy to wear for extended gaming.
This headset even has the same protruding volume knob on the backside of the left earcup. The only visual hint that this is a different headset, other than the lack of a built-in cable, is the Razer logo on the back of the earmuffs in glossy black instead of neon green. The boom microphone is a foam-lined capsule attached to a flexible black metal sleeve. Razer has a larger capsule than the microphone in the BlackShark V2 and rejects more outside noise.
The microphone of the BlackShark V2 Pro is of good quality. It is very similar to the microphone on the previous generation BlackShark V2. Our test recordings sounded clear and clean, very comfortable to use. Razer has always made fantastic microphones for gaming headsets. Users are never disappointed, as it works great for streaming, recording, and podcasting. Highly recommended for serious users, consider getting a USB microphone. Especially for audio capture, as they almost always outperform headset microphones. However, a V2 Pro blast will do in a pinch.
