The Ferox is a razer’s incredible portable speaker, only the size of a table tennis ball, which can hold in your hand. Users can easily carry it wherever they want because it is straightforward. A battery powers this speaker, and you can charge it with a USB cable for 2.5 hours for a full battery. The USB cable has a 3.5 mm audio socket. You can connect it to a tablet, notebook, laptop, or smartphone.

According to Razer, the 470 mAh battery can be used by the user for around 8 hours. It sounds reasonable because it uses the speaker for three sessions on a single charge ranging from 20 minutes to about an hour and 40 minutes. At the base of each speaker, the unit is an illuminated ring that glows blue when the speaker is fully charging, flashes when it is charging and turns red when required.

Design and Features

Ferox comes with two satellite speakers combined, with a nylon-wrapped cable connection, for extra protection when used on the move. You also quickly get the necessary connectors to charge the battery using USB and play music from any audio source. Undoubtedly, that much time was spent by designers designing the Razer Ferox speaker display. The pyramidal dome deliberately removes the physical power button to support a flared top. It displays a mesh resonance chamber protecting the dual vertical facing 30mm drivers inside when expanded.

Razer’s marketing strategy is pretty good on the wrapper city of the Ferox, as it claims that the thin piece of metal on top of the speaker serves to bounce off the acoustic waves without losing energy. With it, it will produce a more intense omnidirectional sound. Razer is a gaming company and markets them as gaming speakers, although nothing about them specifically benefits gaming audio.

Audio Performance

When you use Ferox for notebooks, this dual speaker will provide excellent audio compared to the loud sound from the default notebook speakers. Sound is evident and the least distortionary available at mid-volume, with Ferox doing a much better job maintaining distortion than the Shox duo portable speaker. You can use Ferox according to your audio needs to play games or watch movies. Ferox lacks serious bass kick and in-line volume controls, and the fact that turning the volume level up to the maximum introduces a tinny sound.
