The Razer Basilisk X HyperSpeed is the latest addition to Razer, a continuation of the Basilisk generation that has proven popular. Razer has equipped this mouse with HyperSpeed wireless technology, a faster alternative to Bluetooth. This mouse offers two options to connect with Bluetooth or HyperSpeed, optimizing battery and performance. This mouse has no cable support. Some people worry, especially if they fear their Basilisk X HyperSpeed battery will die when they don’t have a spare. Razer announced that a single AA battery lasts up to 285 hours (HyperSpeed) or 450 hours (Bluetooth) of continuous use (more than that in the Battery Life section).
Design and Performance
The Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed is designed with a fused thumb grip, angled front and beveled surfaces. This design makes some changes simpler, giving it a more basic grip. The left side has two thumb buttons, and the notched scroll wheel has no special adjustments. This mouse has no RGB and a DPI switch, which only has one light. The Basilisk X Hyperspeed measures 130mm x 60mm x 42mm and weighs 83g without the AA battery. The armrest detaches to reveal a cavity for the battery and a small USB dongle. This mouse has space to adjust DPI settings and buttons using Razer Synapse. Underneath it has Razer 5G Advanced optical sensor, which offers up to 16,000 DPI and tracking speeds up to 450 IPS, and acceleration up to 40G.
